Airport Information
For travel to Tamarindo, Costa Rica, the most convenient airport is Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport (LIR) in Liberia. This is the primary airport serving the Guanacaste region and the closest option to our wedding venue.
Distance to Tamarindo Diria Beach Resort:
Approximately 1.5 hours (65–70 km / 40–45 miles) by car.
The drive from Liberia to Tamarindo is scenic and straightforward, passing through small towns, countryside, and coastal landscapes. Roads are paved for the majority of the drive, with the final portion leading directly into Tamarindo.
Another option is Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO) in San José; however, this airport is much farther away and requires a 4.5–5.5 hour drive to Tamarindo. We strongly recommend flying into Liberia (LIR) whenever possible for the easiest travel experience.
